If you can take a look at your mail server settings specifically the IMAP and SMTP. Make a note of the values and delete an overwrite them also check your passwords for both SMTP and IMAP. Make sure they are the same if you can’t see them look at the number of stars or dots.

Why IMAP Folder is Not Properly Syncing?
My VPN was working in the background, even though the file was closed. That means that Mail app fully connected to server , asked for statuses, but not [Outlook Stuck on Synchronizing Folders](https://lawrencewilbert.com/read-blog/29240_outlook-2010-imap-not-synchronizing-new-mail-items-software-amp-applications.html) displaying anything. Furthermore, when calendar invites are accepted using the Outlook client, they disappear from All Mail and go into the Trash folder, but when using WebMail, they remain in the Inbox. I [Troubleshoot Office 365 Sync and Login Issues](https://git.epochteca.com/tahliasouth66) have seen this disparity for years across different Outlook client versions and Windows versions. I also posted on the Gmail subreddit about a year ago. After instalation ios 18 all my accounts in mail app stopped to sync( including icloud mail). I can only recive mails but when I delete mails on macbook they are not deleted on iphone. If an IMAP Inbox isn't displaying new messages as they arrive at the server, but only when the Inbox is selected, there is something wrong with the setup.

IMAP folder sync issue in the new Outlook (moved emails not syncing to webmail)
When you synchronize mail using IMAP between Gmail and a desktop mail client such as Outlook, there is a necessary delay between changes made independently at both ends being synchronized in both directions. When you are accessing Gmail via the web application everything is hosted on Google's cloud servers. So it must be something in IMAP protocol handling on the old server that makes the iOS Mail app go out of sync or crash the syncing mechanism on the iOS device. Maybe some encoding behavior or just a different linefeed or something that has changed over the years... Otherwise why even have the ability to auto-sync? If I need to click on each folder to force the sync/download from server then auto sync serves no purpose.

Meanwhile, the "connecting" or "Checking for mail..." just stays on the bottom status bar of the mail app.If the proxy directs requests to a newer IMAP server implementation (f.i Cyrus imapd 3.6.1), the iOS 18 Mail app works as expected, even the requests are handled by the same IMAP server proxy.I will try the safe starts and experiment with the buttons ans see if it improves. My VPN was working in the background, even though the file was closed.I have no firewall monitors running during the day that would interfere just the vpn.I deleted the Apple Mail app from the phone, reinstalled from the App Store. After instalation ios 18 all my accounts in mail app stopped to sync( including icloud mail).

When you are dealing with any problem, it is important to understand the reasons behind the issues. Below are some causes that contribute to the problem. There are various variables at play here however, generally speaking, Outlook performs best when operating as a front end for Microsoft Exchange and Gmail when accessed via a web browser. I’ve never heard of setting a path before for email, so apologies if this is a simple solution to those who come across this in the future. If [repair corrupted OST in Outlook](https://campusbiasharaclub.com/read-blog/1196_fix-your-outlook-email-connection-by-repairing-your-profile.html) you can, turn off IMAP, require 2FA, and use the native outlook client. Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but why are you using IMAP?
